ABOUT Kimo

Kimo was born and raised on Oahu and has been surfing since he was 7 years old- at the very same location where we offer surfing lessons today.

He fondly remembers gathering with his large, extended ohana every weekend to share time in the ocean surfing with his cousins, aunties and uncles. For him, surfing is a way of life, an embodiment of Hawaiian culture and his Hawaiian/Chinese roots. His over 50 years of local experience means that you will be treated with aloha and unparalleled expertise.

We teach at Rockpiles, in the Ala Moana Bowls Area. This is the premier iconic surf break on Oahu’s South Shore. Hawaii Surf Guru is lifeguard & AED certified as well as State-licensed to provide surf lessons at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor Recreation Area. Permit nu: 20-237858.
